The Learning Guild team is looking forward to welcoming our community back to in-person events this fall, hosting DevLearn in October and Learning 2021 in November.
We are cognizant of the continued risk of COVID-19 transmission and the need to host our events in a way that prioritizes the safety and comfort of our attendees. We are working hard to build proactive health & safety procedures to deliver a safe and comfortable environment where attendees’ focus can be on learning and development.
While there is much debate in our nation regarding how best to respond to COVID, one thing remains clear: a vaccinated population is our best hope for preventing the spread of infections, saving lives around the globe, and finally putting an end to this pandemic. At the same time, our society needs to find ways to return to our everyday activities within the context of the COVID crisis.
Towards that end, we recently polled registered attendees and members of our community that have attended our events in recent years about the possibility of proof of vaccination being required for attendees for our fall events. The feedback we received was overwhelmingly in favor of requiring proof of vaccination.
For these reasons, and having carefully considered all viable options, we have made the decision to require everyone who plans to join us at DevLearn 2021 in Las Vegas and Learning 2021 in Orlando to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated.
We will also continue to evaluate our approach in the weeks ahead to further ensure an excellent on-site experience for attendees. It is our goal to offer an environment where our attendees feel safe and comfortable, and can focus on learning. Mask and social distancing requirements at our fall events will be based upon guidance and requirements from state and local leadership, as well as best practices determined by the CDC.
