Tracks: Management & Strategy

Skill development is the next evolution of L&D, but what does that mean? With more and more organizations beginning to collect and use skill data to make people decisions, L&D’s role is more important than ever in showing the impact of learning on skills. How does this change our responsibilities in our organizations, and how do our own skills need to evolve?

This session will provide an in-depth look at skill data and L&D’s evolving role and impact on the business in keeping skill data fresh and relevant for informing critical people decisions. This session will provide insights into skills ontology, how to measure skills, how organizations are getting started with a skills data strategy, and what the skills technology landscape looks like. We’ll also discuss the evolving relationship between L&D and HR/talent management and how L&D can now show the impact of learning on skills, an advancement in measuring, and communicating ROI.
