P12 Powering Up Performance with Workflow Learning

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM PT
Tuesday, October 24

L&D is facing increased pressure to show a return on investment (ROI) for dollars spent on “training.” To do that, we must move our efforts and deliverables into the workflow, where measurable impact occurs. This performance-first design approach requires a fundamental shift in our thinking and solution design. After all, performance-first solutions often reduce formal training by 50% while simultaneously increasing its impact. Less is more!

This workshop will equip you with knowledge and tools to lead your organization’s shift to the workflow. Through individual and small-group activities, you’ll gain firsthand experience with learning “in the flow of work” as we 1) define workflow learning, 2) explore the business case that supports it, and 3) identify how people really learn in the workflow.

You’ll also participate in a hackathon to identify, solve, and optimize workflow learning challenges and opportunities. Then, we’ll determine what your organization needs to make the shift to workflow learning by conducting a current- and future-state assessment against the 5 Moments of Need® Implementation Model. We’ll also analyze key lessons learned by companies that have already adopted workflow learning so you can strive for their successes and avoid their pitfalls.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How and why to make the case for adopting workflow learning
  • What your organization needs to do to make this shift
  • How to apply an audit process, assess readiness, and begin to use the 5 Moments of Need Implementation Model in your organization
  • Who has already made the shift and what they’ve learned
