Tracks: Virtual Classrooms
Many trainers and presenters find themselves delivering webinars and live online training using Zoom and though they may not mind it, they likely don’t LOVE it. Sharing presentations and software applications while seeing one another on camera is what most presenters do when they meet online using Zoom. Training then becomes more of a show-and-tell than an interactive and collaborative sharing of experiences. But Zoom can be so much more than simply getting on a webcam and presenting to an audience. Using features like annotations and breakouts and preparing one’s setup to maximize the viewing of all the panels for interaction will transform your online session into an event people will line up to be a part of! I love using Zoom to deliver live online training and webinars and I want to share my secrets to getting higher participant engagement using specific strategies and advanced features.
In this workshop we’ll spend the day doing all things Zoom so you can get the hands-on guidance, encouragement, inspiration, and practice you’ll need before going live with a real audience! You’ll also get a wealth of ideas on what’s even possible in Zoom, as most virtual classroom sessions and webinars in it don’t take advantage of all the interactive features available. We’ll begin the day touching base on the basics of Zoom, exploring all the features and settings, getting comfortable in the environment, and seeing things from both the attendee and presenter views. Then we’ll take a deeper look at virtual training techniques in this tool by joining my Zoom session while I demonstrate the activities that I use to teach live online each day in engaging and interactive ways. We’ll analyze the design and delivery strategies and examine your reactions to the engagement. The afternoon will be spent creating your own activities and presenting them back to one another in Zoom for feedback and coaching. Throughout the day we’ll be interacting, asking questions, sharing ideas, working through frustrations, all while exploring what Zoom has to offer the online training and webinar world.
In this session, you will learn:
- Ways to set up your Zoom account and profile for maximum interaction and engagement
