506: Build, Design, Transform: A Hands-On Guide to Gen AI in Higher Education
AI is reshaping higher education, and knowing where to start is half the battle. In this hands-on session, we'll cut through the noise and explore how generative AI can practically transform teaching, instructional design, and the student experience. Whether you're just getting started or ready to push your practice farther, you'll leave with practical takeaways, fresh ideas, and a clear picture of what's next.
In this session, you will learn to:
- Apply at least one generative AI tool or technique to a real teaching, instructional design, or student experience challenge within your own context
- Experiment with generative AI strategies introduced during the session and assess which approaches best fit your current role and institutional environment
- Produce a practical use of generative AI by adapting a session example to your own course, program, or design workflow
Attendees should have a general understanding of Generative AI capabilities and have experimented with an LLM, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini.
