EXPOB202: AI Won't Make You a Better Leader

November 5, 2026 10:00 am - 10:30 am

Researchers at UC Berkeley spent eight months watching a tech company adopt AI. The time it saved people went straight into more work. Leaders who manage to claim those hours back face a harder question: how should they use that time?

At VML, a global advertising agency of 26,000 people, Kelly Stuart-Johnson's team built an award-winning leadership development program called Hi. Managers rehearsed difficult conversations with Yoodli's AI roleplay, and the team measured two things at the same time: how confident the leaders felt, and how well they performed in those conversations. The numbers told different stories.

During this session, you will learn:

  • Why training makes leaders confident long before it makes them competent
  • How AI roleplay closes the gap
  • What leaders can learn from AI about empathy
  • How to use the time AI saves to become a better leader
