Tracks: Instructional Design

The Learning Guild publishes monthly research reports exploring evidence-based ideas of interest to our members. In this session the authors of three recent reports will provide an overview of their findings, with implications for practice.

Meg Fairchild and Megan Torrance (both of Torrance Learning) and Jason Haag (Veracity Technology Consultants) will review the data from their recent survey on learning analytics: What, who’s using, and how?

Hadiya Nuriddin (Duets Learning) shares highlights from her research report, “Storytelling: Satisfying The Brain’s Search for Meaning”, which examined ways storytelling and the use of narrative can promote learning through memory, emotion, empathy, and connection.

And Learning Guild director of research Jane Bozarth will offer an update to our popular reports on common myths and misconceptions in L&D, among them learning styles, personality types, and “generations.” These quick overviews are meant to jumpstart your thinking on topics and whet your appetite for more.

Technology discussed: xAPI, AI
